The advertising world has changed dramatically in the past 40 years. “Mad Men” has given us a peek into what the advertising business was like in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. This was a time before computers, internet and Xerox copy machines! Business deals were struck over afternoon cocktails. It was also a time when men dominated advertising. However, women did make their mark in the field.
American Advertising Federation-Cleveland (AAF) is sponsoring a luncheon at the Doubletree Hotel on Lakeside in downtown on August, 15, 2012. There will be a panel of local women who were part of the “Mad Men” world called “It’s a Mad Mad Mad Women’s Luncheon”. Last fall, AAF sponsored a very popular luncheon with Cleveland’s very own Mad Men. Now it is the women’s turn! Linkmedia 360’s president, Betty L. Brown, will be a part of the panel. Betty is a veteran in yellow pages advertising and directional marketing. She has seen many, many changes in her 40 years in the business. The other members of the panel include: Sharyn Hinman and Sara Stashower with Beth Hallisy as the Moderator. These women all played vital roles in their advertising agencies in the past 40 years. We are excited to hear their stories and learn from their experiences. Linkmedia 360 is very proud to see Betty on the panel and we look forward to the stories she will share on the panel!
