The SEO Director is responsible for the overall integrated SEO strategy and success of Linkmedia 360 clients along with the performance of the SEO support team that executes upon strategy to drive results. The Director is to be a trusted advisor to client partners and works to develop turnkey solutions to solve their business challenges and help them better understand the strategy, activities and the results Linkmedia drives. The Director must clearly communicate program progress to the Account Managers, team and clients along with keeping tabs on changes in the search landscape as they relate to improving visibility and downstream conversions.

The Director is responsible for overall team development including but not limited to; training, mentoring, growth plans, identifying strengths and recognizing areas of improvement. The Director should have a high focus on teamwork, client retention, innovative strategy, high-quality delivery, and building scalable efficiencies for everything related to search engine optimization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Client Delivery
    • Support Account Managers with new client setup, onboarding and program expectations
    • Full accountability of client quarterly roadmaps, monthly performance results, and QBRs as necessary
    • Proactively address and resolve client concerns, and escalate as necessary
    • Perform quality assurance checks on team’s work output looking for:
      • Efficiency
      • Accuracy
      • Consistency
      • Effectiveness
    • Team Management and Development
      • Determine hiring needs driven by sound business case
      • Effective and timely communication with agency leadership on areas of growth opportunity for the collective team and individual team members
      • Assist in team hiring and performance reviews
      • Review weekly timecard reports to ensure accuracy and team capacity
      • Coordinate team training to support proper execution of daily tasks to drive client program results
      • Conduct productive 1:1 meetings and annual goals with support team to foster and empower professional growth and results for client partners
    • Digital Marketing Expertise
      • Strategic mindset, approach and tactical delivery experience
      • Ability to learn new strategy and tactics quickly, as well as the ability to simplify marketing components with multiple dependencies

      • Exemplify deep subject matter expertise in all areas of SEO: Technical, UX, Local, Content, Conversions and Analytics
      • Knowledgeable in website re-designs, content marketing, reviews/reputation management, and social media
      • Efficient with using a cloud-based software, tools and workflow
    • Vertical Growth
      • Develop integrated SEO strategy for agency focus verticals
      • Develop and distribute industry POVs to the team and clients on a frequent basis, while also externalizing thought leadership on our agency blog
      • Provide new business support to communicate our SEO value proposition and case studies
    • Client Onboarding and Ongoing Management
      • Create and manage integrated SEO strategy and best practices for multiple client accounts
      • Conduct monthly internal strategy meetings with teams for each campaign
      • Conduct weekly team checkpoints on assigned tasks
      • Create and/or oversee a 3-month strategic roadmap for each client, closely connected to established goals
      • Manage an SEO support team with a strong focus on driving high quality traffic and leads for client partners
      • Work with Account Managers to identify and position opportunities to grow client results and investment with Linkmedia 360
    • Strategic SEO Analysis
      • Oversee utilization of agency SEO tool suite to deliver optimal results – including but not limited to: Moz, Screaming Frog, SEM Rush, and proprietary internal audit platforms
      • Strong understanding and implementation for JSON-LD, structured data and schema markup types
      • Perform ongoing analysis to help guide the strategy for each client based on ongoing audits completed by Strategists and Specialists.
        • Keyword research, mapping and optimization (full-funnel approach)

      • Continually pushing our team to dive deeper into our reporting and develop meaningful insights
        • Regularly share success stories and examples in 1:1’s, team meetings, and on our internal communication channels
      • Ensure proper goal and event tracking are in place for all managed clients, working with our analytics team for optimization opportunities
      • Identify custom tasks to be fulfilled for each client campaign
      • Finalize deliverable creation as needed prior to team and client review (high level of accuracy and completeness)

Strategic Growth and Leadership Opportunities:

  • Team Development
    • Mentor and train support team members (Strategists and Specialists) to develop more skills as a SEO experts and drive towards executing results for clients
    • Provide timely 360 review feedback for team members as requested
  • Integrated Search Marketing
    • Define branded and non-branded Google presence in light of zero-click trends (3-pack, organic, knowledge panel, etc.)
      • Take the lead on supporting actionable and integrated keyword strategy for joint SEO/PPC campaigns
    • Develop meaningful insights and storytelling methods that connect the touchpoints for integrated digital marketing – all designed to drive enhanced visibility, quality traffic and downstream leads.
  • Integrated Analytics
    • Develop innovative and efficient internal SEO/Local/Content KPI reporting processes to prompt action in driving results
    • Google Search Console and Google Analytics expert level support
  • UX/CRO and Website Design/Development
    • Utilize strong digital marketing background to continually improve client websites to increase conversions for the traffic we drive through SEO, PPC, etc.
    • Work with our designers and developers to execute upon your strategy (i.e. tech SEO, template enhancements, A/B Testing)

Role Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, 5+ years working directly with SEO
  • Prior agency experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Basic development skills for HTML, JavaScript and CSS to support SEO objectives
  • Content planning and copywriting and/or editing experience
  • Self-motivation, assertiveness, bias for action and commitment to execution
  • Entrepreneurial vision and success growing a business and/or product line
  • Outstanding leadership qualities demonstrated by excellent communication, presentation skills and enthusiasm to overcome difficult initiatives
  • Strong attention to detail and proven accountability in professional career
