Google Mobile-Friendly Algorithm Update: Point of View
Having a website that can be easily viewed on mobile devices is very important to converting mobile searchers into customers. Google recently announced that they will be making a change in their search algorithm to rank mobile search results on April 21, 2015. Websites that are deemed “mobile-friendly” by Google will rank better in mobile search. Mobile-friendly would include responsive websites and mobile websites. According to Google, “Users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.” Mobile apps that are indexed by Google through their App Indexing program will also begin to rank better in mobile search.

The big question from the update is: How will the change in the Google algorithm impact your website being found on mobile devices? The changes could have a huge impact on websites that are not mobile-friendly leading to a decline in search traffic and search rankings. Testing your website via Google’s Mobile Friendly Test is the first step that needs to be taken to make sure that your website is ready for the change.
